Polaroid of the Week: Springtime Bliss in New York City
Bright blooming flowers, warm rains, sunny skies, and electric excitement in the air—a collective relief from millions as winter ended, buzzing with summer's romantic promise. Offered a housesitting gig in New York that spring, we jumped at it. Endless summers in Thailand, Cambodia, India, Mexico, Costa Rica, Buenos Aires, and Santiago had skipped fall and winter for us, but spring's magic was unforgettable.
Chasing eternal summer, we'd almost forgotten spring's sensory delights, especially its scents! Tulips burst from public gardens and balconies, pink and white blossoms brightening streets for weeks. Daytime walks were ideal: warm for flip-flops, no jackets needed. Even storms—rising humidity, thunder, lightning, then fresh, rain-washed air—were enjoyable.
Spring is the ultimate time to live in New York City!
