Polaroid of the Week: Stunning Sunset Over the Statue of Liberty

Polaroid of the Week: Stunning Sunset Over the Statue of LibertyAfter an action-packed week, a relaxing spa getaway sounds ideal. Highlights included hosting out-of-town visitors—first-time New Yorkers—who reignited my appreciation for the city's magic through fresh eyes.

I crafted a budget-friendly, comprehensive itinerary packed with unique experiences: street fairs in Manhattan, flea and food markets in Williamsburg, a pizza picnic in Brooklyn Bridge Park, the aerial tram to Roosevelt Island, salsa dancing in Coney Island, Central Park's hidden gems, the full Brooklyn Bridge walk, and the entire High Line Park. They raved about spots overlooked by standard guides. This photo captures the sunset from our free cruise past the Statue of Liberty—ride the Staten Island Ferry from Manhattan 45 minutes before sunset and return after dark.

Beyond hosting, I moved apartments, toured NYC's top rooftop bars, revisited the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, explored the Bronx for the first time, baked cupcakes for a friend's birthday celebrated on a Brooklyn rooftop, played bocce ball, and attended an outdoor dance party—all while keeping up with work.

Despite the whirlwind, it was unforgettable. New York has never felt more vibrant.

  • Polaroid of the Week: Helsinki s Majestic Cathedral in Fresh Winter Snow

They say time flies when youre having fun—and it certainly did during my recent week in Helsinki. After a quick trip to Stockholm, I returned to find the city transformed under a fresh layer of snow, a far cry from my first gray, cold visit. My main focus was the MATKA Nordic Travel Fair, filled with workshops and networking. Despite packed days and chilly free time (around 32°F/0°C, milder than the expected 5°F/-15°C), I got a solid feel for Helsinki. Ill return soon for a summer stay, thanks t

  • Stunning Sunset in Koh Chang, Thailand: Polaroid of the Week

I originally planned to travel directly from Sihanoukville, Cambodia, to Bangkok but made a spontaneous detour to Koh Chang, a picturesque island in the Gulf of Thailand just north of the Cambodian border. (Thailand has two Koh Chang islands; the other is in the Andaman Sea near Myanmar.) This allowed me to discover another Thai gem and enjoy extra beach days before returning to bustling Bangkok. I arrived with no preconceptions about Koh Chang, curious how it stacked up against Andaman Sea isla

  • Polaroid of the Week: Captivating Manhattan Sunset

Another busy week draws to a close! This week, I added serious apartment hunting to my to-do list—far more intensive than the casual scouting from the previous week. Without my commitment to daily four-mile runs this month, I might not have explored much of the city. These scenic routes reminded me why New York is my favorite place: runs over the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges, loops through Prospect Park, and strolls via charming neighborhoods like Fort Greene and Bed-Stuy, with their iconic b
