Polaroid of the Week: Stunning Manhattan Sunset from East River Beach

Polaroid of the Week: Stunning Manhattan Sunset from East River BeachWhen we returned to New York last week for the third and final time this year, we were treated to exceptional fall weather: temperatures climbed into the low 70s°F, skies stayed brilliantly blue, and sunshine dominated—all except one day.

Our main worry for a November trip was freezing cold forcing us indoors (with limited warm clothing), but we thrived outdoors. We joined a walking food tour in trendy Williamsburg—and savored this breathtaking sunset from East River Beach. We biked across Manhattan on Citi Bikes, cheered the New York City Marathon amid Central Park's fall colors, and explored Bryant Park's ice rink. Evenings stayed mild; the Halloween Parade night felt balmy. We reconnected with friends, discovered a new favorite at Bastille Artichoke (their artichoke pizza is a must-try!), revisited beloved Doughnut Plant, and indulged in Thai and Indian flavors—preparing for our six months in South America.

Nowhere in the Northern Hemisphere beat New York for those final days, reaffirming it as one of our top global favorites. Next: Chile's spring vibes!

If youve followed our adventures, you know were passionate about sunsets. Santiago shines here, with its array of rooftop bars and pools—prime spots for upscale evenings among the citys elite, if youre dressed for the occasion. Last Saturday marked a milestone: our 1,000th day on the road! Friend Indi invited us to an exclusive rooftop party at a downtown hotel, where we celebrated in style. Witness that fiery sun dipping behind the mountains… absolute perfection!

  • Polaroid of the Week: Koh Rong s Hidden Paradise – Cambodia s Ultimate Secluded Beach

How far would you go for a day on a 7km stretch of nearly deserted white-sand beach? After searching in Thailand and nearly finding it in Malaysia, we discovered our ideal Southeast Asian beach in Cambodia: endless white sands, ankle-deep crystal-clear waters 100 feet offshore, and hardly a soul around. This gem is on Koh Rong, a small island two hours off Cambodias coast. Reaching it demands a one-hour semi-strenuous hike in intense April heat, culminating in a 75-meter near-vertical scramble u

  • Stunning Sunset in Koh Chang, Thailand: Polaroid of the Week

I originally planned to travel directly from Sihanoukville, Cambodia, to Bangkok but made a spontaneous detour to Koh Chang, a picturesque island in the Gulf of Thailand just north of the Cambodian border. (Thailand has two Koh Chang islands; the other is in the Andaman Sea near Myanmar.) This allowed me to discover another Thai gem and enjoy extra beach days before returning to bustling Bangkok. I arrived with no preconceptions about Koh Chang, curious how it stacked up against Andaman Sea isla
