Polaroid of the Week: Embracing Early Summer in New York City
This past week delivered glorious early summer weather to New York City, with average daily temperatures of 85°F (30°C). Balancing work with the outdoors was a challenge amid such ideal conditions. I made the most of every free moment, revisiting favorite parks including Prospect Park, Central Park, Brooklyn Bridge Park, and Washington Square Park. Highlights featured a cycling tour from Brooklyn to Harlem along the Brooklyn Bridge and Hudson River path, invigorating runs on the Brooklyn Bridge promenade and through the parks, lively food festivals, and captivating outdoor art at Bushwick Open Studios last Sunday.
New York City's summer is a cherished highlight, where I relish every instant outdoors—revisiting beloved neighborhoods, discovering fresh ones, and soaking up the sunshine. Cycling elevates the adventure, especially after navigating those humid subway commutes. While last week's disappointment over canceled June travel lingered, this week's perfection reaffirms that NYC is the ultimate summer destination.
