Stunning Lake Charles Sunset Through a Visitor's Eyes: #VisitLakeCharles Photo of the Month

Summer travel season is in full swing. Many of us are packing our suitcases and crafting detailed vacation itineraries—perhaps even checking them twice.

We've noticed a surge of travelers sharing their adventures across our social media channels. You're all making the most of it—fishing, swimming, bonding with family and friends, and savoring Louisiana's renowned cuisine.

It's inspiring to realize that while I'm dreaming of new destinations, visitors from around the world are discovering my hometown of Lake Charles—including international travelers like Sarah Askaroff from England.

Scrolling through Instagram last week, I discovered this breathtaking image:

Stunning Lake Charles Sunset Through a Visitor s Eyes: #VisitLakeCharles Photo of the Month

It truly captivated me. Sarah captured this photo during her road trip from England to Louisiana.

"On our way to New Orleans, we stayed overnight in Lake Charles after hearing about its fantastic casinos. We spent more than we should have at the roulette tables! Strolling between the two casinos along the waterfront, we were mesmerized by fish leaping from the water. We lingered to watch the most stunning sunset and fell in love with Louisiana right then."

Lake Charles and Louisiana boast a unique allure, drawing people from across the globe—including 'across the pond'—to immerse in our rich culture, history, flavors, and charm. Your shared photos of adventures remind me that these wonders are right here, just across the lake.

Happy summer vacations (or staycations) to all!

We loved riding in the bed of the pickup truck, feeling the wind and sun while spotting towering trees, wildflowers, and occasional wildlife—like the unforgettable band of wild horses we once encountered. • End of the Rainbow: Stunning #VisitLakeCharles Photo of the Month Winner

One of the magical highlights of Southwest Louisiana is its dramatic skies. While the world shares one sun and moon, our sunrises and sunsets feel uniquely tailored for us here in Lake Charles. Rainbows add an extra layer of wonder. Theyre rare and fleeting, and my roadside snaps often include windshield glare or mirrors. But @PhoteauxBien nailed the perfect shot, prompting the timeless question: What lies at the end of that rainbow? I captured this after a rain shower at Turners Bay. My hus
