Frosty Factory: Lake Charles' Pioneering Drive-Thru Daiquiri Stand Since 1983
Mike Branch made history in 1983 by opening Lake Charles' first drive-thru daiquiri stand on Prien Lake Road. Naming it Frosty Factory, he has delighted customers with flavorful frozen drinks for over three decades. In 1987, he relocated to Ryan Street, and in 2002, to its current spot on Common Street near McNeese State University.

Bartender Carolyn Witherwax highlights the 21 ever-changing flavors on the menu, from classics like Sex on the Beach and Blackberry Thrill to Electric Iced Tea. Choosing just one can be the toughest decision of your visit.
Monkey Shine, tasting like a creamy banana milkshake, reigns as the top seller. Indecisive patrons or flavor adventurers can mix a “combo” of two or more. “Jungle Juice with Cajun Cooler or Monkey Shine paired with Bayou Kahlua are customer favorites,” shares Witherwax. The options are limitless!

Authentic ingredients shine through: real strawberries in Strawberry Daiquiris and Margaritas, fresh pineapple puree in Piña Coladas, genuine peaches in Peach Fuzz, cranberry juice in Pirates’ Punch (crafted for the Louisiana Pirate Festival), and local rum from Louisiana Spirits Distillery in Bayou Rum. Holiday specials like Santa’s Helper blend whiskey, Skol rum, and eggnog.

No artificial flavors or sugary mixes here—just premium quality. The fully stocked bar also offers beer, wine, and liquors.
Beyond pioneering frozen drinks, Branch introduced the area's first Karaoke Nights, held every Friday and Saturday. Patrons love the four pool tables, foosball, video poker, and occasional live music.
