Embracing Change: #VisitLakeCharles Photo of the Month – Ducks in Flight
We all occasionally fall into a routine, repeating the same activities day after day. While comfort is tempting, spring ignites a fresh urge for renewal—whether starting a garden, practicing yoga, organizing your home, or exploring new areas in your hometown. It's the perfect time to embrace change and move forward!
This month's Photo of the Month captures that spirit perfectly. These ducks winter in Southwest Louisiana each year, but instinct calls them north for migration. The image was captured by Will Daigle, owner of SWLA Tours, Inc., along the Pintail Wildlife Drive at Cameron Prairie National Wildlife Refuge.

"The photo was taken at the end of duck hunting season. I wanted to check if any ducks remained or if they'd all migrated north. As we looped the drive, we spotted two ducks in the canal. Preparing my camera as they swam, they suddenly took flight. I was fortunate to capture this close-up, with water droplets visible on their wings."
Thank you for the inspiring shot, Will! Share in the comments: What's one new activity you'd like to try?
