Polaroid of the Week: Discovering Vibrant Copenhagen on a Budget Day Trip

Polaroid of the Week: Discovering Vibrant Copenhagen on a Budget Day TripWhile many might view detouring to another country for a cheaper flight as inconvenient, I seized the opportunity. A $200 savings on my Europe-to-LA flight from Copenhagen, plus just €20 from Berlin via budget transport, made it an easy choice. Europe's competitive airlines, buses, and trains have made such adventures affordable and exciting.

My must-sees were straightforward: the iconic Little Mermaid statue, the vividly painted Nordic houses lining the canals, and Christiania, the city's renowned autonomous district celebrated for its alternative culture. (Photography is prohibited inside Christiania, so check out this picture-heavy BuzzFeed article for a glimpse inside.)

I wandered freely, ducking into intriguing streets, lingering in stylish coffee shops, and relaxing by the water to people-watch in Denmark's capital. Bikes outnumbered cars—much like in Stockholm—highlighting the locals' love for cycling. Early spring brought chilly air but sunny vibes, with patrons enjoying outdoor cafés. Copenhagen proved the ideal one-day escape; I suspect our paths will cross again.

  • Polaroid of the Week: Unforgettable Pumpkin Patch Adventure in Buckley, Washington

October held a special place in my heart this year. After several U.S. autumns without experiencing one, I finally visited my first pumpkin patch, thanks to friends Tawny and Chris. This quintessential fall activity is now checked off my bucket list! The Buckley, Washington patch exceeded expectations. Beyond the vast field of vibrant orange pumpkins in every shape and size, it offered a corn maze, pig races, tractor-pulled hay rides, pony rides, a goat walk, and playful ducks. I especially enjoy

When my friend Shannon shared shed be in London in September, I knew I had to carve out a week in my former adopted home. Having just spent time with her niece two months prior—but not seeing Shannon in over a year—I was overdue for a return. After years of global travels, Id only passed through briefly last November, nearly five years post-farewell to England. Id already promised myself more time in this beloved city; now I had the perfect excuse. A week felt too short, yet it allowed me to re

  • Polaroid of the Week: Vibrant Dyed Chicks Brighten Christmas in Copán, Honduras

Discover these eye-catching dyed chicks! Typically an Easter tradition in the Middle East and Asia, we spotted baskets brimming with multicolored chicks in Copán, Honduras, as part of Christmas celebrations. Excited children of all ages gather around, snapping up pairs for just 5 Lempiras (about US$0.26 each). While the practice brings joy to kids, it raises ethical concerns. Local farmers insist the dyes injected into the eggs are non-toxic and harmless, but scientists warn otherwise. Fortunat
