Polaroid of the Week: Germany's Thrilling World Cup Victory!

Polaroid of the Week: Germany s Thrilling World Cup Victory! This isn't my sharpest photo from last week, but it captures my purest joy: the moment Germany clinched the World Cup! I watched the final with an international crew—Americans, Germans, a Ukrainian, and a Brazilian—at the public viewing under Brooklyn's Manhattan Bridge. The tension had me on edge, nearly in tears, doubting till the end. But the soccer gods delivered: Germany triumphed over Argentina in an epic finale. After 64 unforgettable matches over 31 days, New York buzzed with energy—the perfect spot to celebrate!

Beyond the soccer high, I moved into a new spot in Brooklyn, right by Prospect Park (the borough's Central Park rival), where I'm dog-sitting a charming pup. Morning runs there have been refreshing, and I joined friends for a picnic during the free Philharmonic in the Park concert—our second stellar outdoor show after a stunning opera in the park. Summer in New York is unbeatable!

I'd planned to head back to Germany post-July 4th weekend, but that didn't happen. With Europe's lackluster summer, I'm soaking up NYC's vibe instead—no departure in sight. Next travels are brewing; expect a full life update soon.

Tourist Attraction
  • Polaroid of the Week: Breathtaking Sunset at Green-Wood Cemetery, Brooklyn

One of the things I love most about New York City is its endless array of discoveries. I maintain a constantly growing Google Drive list of must-visit spots—from beaches and parks to hidden plazas, unexplored neighborhoods, top restaurants, cozy coffee shops, pizza joints, art galleries, and bars. Despite crossing off items regularly, the list only expands. During my recent NYC visit, I checked off several while adding even more, including a long-awaited trip to photograph the iconic Green-Woo

  • Polaroid of the Week: Stunning Street Art in Bushwick, Brooklyn

When I arrived in New York last week, locals joked that I had brought summer with me. The spring had been unusually cold and rainy until my weekend arrival—a reassurance for skipping most of May in the city for four weeks in Austin (yes, my FOMO is real, and that decision wasnt easy!). I even considered extending my Austin stay—I loved it that much—but unforeseen circumstances shifted my plans (details soon). With just eight days in my adopted home, I maximized every moment: savoring a classic N

  • Polaroid of the Week: Unforgettable Pumpkin Patch Adventure in Buckley, Washington

October held a special place in my heart this year. After several U.S. autumns without experiencing one, I finally visited my first pumpkin patch, thanks to friends Tawny and Chris. This quintessential fall activity is now checked off my bucket list! The Buckley, Washington patch exceeded expectations. Beyond the vast field of vibrant orange pumpkins in every shape and size, it offered a corn maze, pig races, tractor-pulled hay rides, pony rides, a goat walk, and playful ducks. I especially enjoy
