Polaroid of the Week: Charming Little Bronze Girl Sculpture at Asheville Fountain
Asheville, North Carolina, is a thriving artistic hub. During our short visit, we discovered dozens of striking sculptures dotting the city. We later learned they form part of the Asheville Urban Trail, a 1.7-mile outdoor art walk launched in the early 1990s to elevate the city's image through public art. Visitors can follow the trail with a self-guided audio tour that unveils the stories behind each piece, celebrating Asheville's rich history, culture, and people. Highlights include whimsical pigs and turkeys, a bronze fiddler, a playful cat, and a soaring eagle. This endearing young girl drinking from the horse-head fountain evokes fond memories for Asheville's older generations, reminiscent of fountains from their childhood.
