Polaroid of the Week: A Perfect Sunny Beach Day in Brighton

Polaroid of the Week: A Perfect Sunny Beach Day in BrightonAfter arriving in the UK from a scorching 100°F (38°C) New York day into a chilly 55°F (13°C) rainy morning, I worried my Brighton weekend—including the Pride Parade—might be washed out.

Fortunately, the weather cleared by the time I reached Brighton by train. I headed straight to the beach to savor the blue skies and iconic pier. The pebble beach buzzed with families, couples, exchange students, and early Pride arrivals, all basking in the relaxed vibe. As a frequent visitor during my England days, I was thrilled to rediscover the city after six years and see how Pride had evolved since my last visit nearly a decade ago.

This trip reignited my decade-long love for Brighton's seaside charm. Blessed with ideal summer weather over five days, it featured the best Pride Festival I've attended in years. Stay tuned for parade photos and Brighton itinerary tips.

  • Polaroid of the Week: Serene Harlem Meer in Central Park on a Sunny December Day

Last week, I struggled to get into the Christmas spirit, and this weeks spring-like temperatures—reaching 72°F (22°C)—did little to help. Christmas Eve felt more like the Fourth of July, breaking heat records and even coaxing cherry trees to blossom. While Id love to skip winter altogether, my concerns about climate change tempered my enjoyment of the unseasonably warm holidays. That said, I didnt mind dashing out for a bagel in flip-flops, shorts, and a T-shirt, or pulling out my summer runni
