Polaroid of the Week: Blissful Beach Day at Sandy Hook on the Jersey Shore

Polaroid of the Week: Blissful Beach Day at Sandy Hook on the Jersey Shore

It's been months since my last proper beach visit, making this week's visitor the perfect excuse for a day trip. I eyed new spots like Jones Beach or Long Beach on Long Island, but a SeaStreak ferry special to Sandy Hook convinced me to revisit the Jersey Shore.

Sandy Hook delighted last year as a serene NYC escape. Without bikes for everyone this time, activities were limited, but I anticipated a quality beach—rare near the city, especially to impress a Florida beach lover.

Just 40 minutes after boarding near Wall Street, we reached Sandy Hook's sandy shores—the easiest beach access from NYC. An hour post-departure, we were sunbathing. Ideal for my first summer getaway; hoping for another before Europe.
