Polaroid of the Week: Vibrant Summer Night Fireworks at Coney Island

Polaroid of the Week: Vibrant Summer Night Fireworks at Coney IslandAfter a week exploring my favorite spots in New York with a visitor from Florida, I planned a memorable send-off before her Saturday departure. Coney Island's Friday night summer fireworks delivered just that. The iconic boardwalk near Luna Park buzzes with families, couples, salsa and break dancers, Russian grandmas from nearby Brighton Beach, cotton candy vendors, and Manhattanites escaping the city hustle.

The expansive sandy beach is ideal for sunbathing, volleyball, or relaxation, while the boardwalk offers prime people-watching. The pier provides stunning shoreline views to the Rockaways. As dusk falls, thrill-seekers' screams echo from rides like the Cyclone and Thunderbolt, mingling with Russian chatter, seagull cries, and vendors hawking cold water and ice cream. At 9:30 p.m., crowds gather for a spectacular fireworks display—a perfect cap to a hot summer day and a true celebration of the season.

Tourist Attraction
  • Polaroid of the Week: Toasting Summer Magic in New York City s Central Park

This past week centered on Central Park, New York Citys largest and most iconic urban oasis. Staying just blocks away, I visited daily for invigorating runs—where I trained for and completed my first race in 2010—sunlit writing sessions on a blanket (freelancer perks!), a picnic park tour shared on Snapchat (ID: mariposa2711), and the above epic sunset gathering with cheese, wine, a game of boule, and catch-up chats with fellow travel bloggers Caroline and Kristin. • Isla Mujeres: Mexico s Stunning Caribbean Island Paradise – Polaroid of the Week

In 2010, I took a day trip to Isla Mujeres from Playa del Carmen and instantly fell in love with this tiny Caribbean gem. Crystal-clear turquoise waters, powdery white-sand beaches, and palm trees swaying gently in the breeze made for an unforgettable day. Nearly six years later, I returned for a weekend getaway to cap off my Mexico adventure—a perfect finale that made parting bittersweet. Though Ill return to Mexico soon, this road trips end was especially poignant. As the final stop on our road

  • Polaroid of the Week: Isla del Sol – The Mystical Inca Birthplace on Lake Titicaca

Our final stop in Bolivia before entering Peru was the enchanting Isla del Sol in the vast Lake Titicaca, spanning over 3,200 square miles. A quick boat from Copacabana allows a day trip, but we stayed overnight to fully explore. It ranked among our top Bolivia highlights! The rugged, rocky island supports about 800 families living off farming, fishing, and modest tourism. No roads or motorized vehicles exist—steep paths make even cycling impossible. Locals use donkeys and llamas for transport, w
