Polaroid of the Week: Canada Day Celebrations in Ottawa

We celebrated Canada Day, the nation's 144th birthday on July 1, 2011, in Ottawa. Canada's capital hosts the country's most spectacular festivities, with passionate patriotism that paints the town red—like this joyful participant!

The Ottawa Jazz Festival ran concurrently, filling the city center with stages and street performances. Every green space brimmed with picnicking families in red and white, waving maple leaf flags. Witnessing hundreds of thousands of Canadians on their national holiday was unforgettable, especially with Prince William and Catherine, Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, attending events on Parliament Hill.
