Polaroid of the Week: Savoring an Authentic German Breakfast in Berlin
My final days in Germany were, as always, wonderfully hectic. From Munich, I visited friends and family in my hometown and Leipzig, unpacked my summer clothes from my Israel trip, and repacked for a cooler destination.
My last stop was Berlin, where I reunited with Rikka before departing Europe (my surprise trip did happen—stay tuned!). After our Oktoberfest adventures, I showed her Berlin's highlights: vibrant street art in Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg, my favorite Neukölln neighborhood with a stunning sunset at Tempelhof Airfield, and a mouthwatering dinner at Mustafa's Gemüse Kebap. My go-to veggie kebab costs just €2.80 ($3.57)—the best and cheapest meal in town, though expect a 30-minute wait as word has spread.
Knowing I wouldn't enjoy a traditional German breakfast for months, I made the most of staying just one minute from Morgenland, one of Berlin's top breakfast spots, before heading to the airport. Another brief but memorable visit—see you soon, Berlin!
