Polaroid of the Week: Capturing the Timeless Charm of Historic Houses in the South Bronx
This past week has been one of the most uncertain I've experienced in months. I'm scheduled to travel to a new country in just two weeks, yet I've received no details from the organizers. While I thrive on spontaneous plans, the lack of flight confirmations or arrangements has left me in limbo, contemplating backup options.
As hinted in my July Life Lately Update, my September itinerary includes a major hike. Stay tuned for full details in next week's August edition—exciting adventures await.
Emotionally, it's been a rollercoaster, with leaving New York proving challenging. I'll share more next week, but staying busy with meaningful activities is key.
My final weeks in NYC are packed: touring with visiting friends, revisiting favorites, indulging at beloved spots (hello, Cronut!), a Jersey outing, beach escape, and a spontaneous return to the Bronx last Wednesday to explore more of this vast borough and its free-admission Botanical Gardens.
The Bronx captured my heart on my second visit, thanks to standout pizza at Zero Otto Nove in Arthur Avenue's original Little Italy (who knew there was another beyond Manhattan!), vibrant street art, and elegant Riverdale mansions. Previously, I championed Brooklyn for NYC itineraries—now, my mission is the Bronx! 😊
