Brittany Bullock Spends a Perfect Day Exploring Dallas

When you imagine a perfect day, what makes it special? For Dallas‑based digital strategist Brittany Bullock, it’s a blend of culinary delights, cultural spots, and green living.

Bullock has called Dallas home for over four years. She builds digital strategies and manages partnerships for a leading mobile app, while keeping a finger on the pulse of the city’s food scene on her blog, The Brittany B.

Morning

"I always treat myself to coffee," Bullock says. “I’ve loved coffee since I was six or seven, and I hate making it at home even though it would save money.” Her go‑to spots include La La Land Café, known for its lavender bloom latte, and Foxtrot Market. She also enjoys breakfast at Breakfast Bar in South Dallas – simple, tasty, and affordable.

Afternoon

“I love the Dallas Arboretum,” she notes. “It’s BYOB, so I can bring my own picnic and relax in the gardens.” If she’s not strolling the arboretum, she’s likely grabbing lunch from local favorites such as Smokey John’s for a brisket sandwich, or sampling pizza at Pie Tap Pizza and Cocina Italiano, a new Italian spot she recently discovered.

Evening

Later, Bullock often shops for vintage treasures at Jumpshop Classics, a Deep Ellum thrift store known for tees and shoes. She also picks up spices at 1890 Marketplace Dallas and visits Trick Pony. In the Arts District, she frequents Musume for its hidden speakeasy, Akai.

Staying Busy During the Pandemic

Like many, Bullock took up new hobbies during lockdown. “I went from two to twenty plants,” she says. “I always liked plants but struggled to keep them alive.” With encouragement from her therapist, she now cultivates a thriving indoor garden, naming each plant after a musician – from a Jay‑Z money tree to a Missy Elliot ivy. She shops for greenery at Oasis Plant Shop in Bishop Arts and Ruibal’s.
