Dallas Insider: Experience the Southwest's Largest St. Patrick's Day Parade

Every year, Dallas embraces its Irish heritage with the Southwest’s largest St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Over 125,000 attendees line Greenville Avenue to enjoy more than 90 dazzling floats, live music, and a variety of fan‑zone experiences.

Plan Your Day

The two‑mile route can get crowded early, so arrive before 10 a.m. to secure a prime viewing spot. Highlighted fan zones include the Dallas Mavericks‑hosted Mavs Corner and the Corona Extra Tail Gate Zone. Early‑morning fitness enthusiasts can join the “Dash Down Greenville,” a 5‑k walk/run that starts at 8 a.m. For late‑night entertainment, the parade’s headline act is Jimmy Eat World.

Leave the Car at Home

With thousands of people in attendance, DART is the fastest way to reach Greenville Avenue. Stop at Lovers Lane or Mockingbird stations, or hop in an Uber or Lyft for a quick ride.

Know Where to Eat

Grab a table at Truck Yard for a classic cheesesteak, or head to HG Supply Co’s rooftop patio for a gourmet burger. Cool down with a cucumber‑lime popsicle from Steel City Pops, or satisfy your Cajun cravings at one of Dodie’s Greenville locations or Yucatan Taco Stand’s chicken nachos.

Stay to Play

Shops along Greenville stay open during the festival. Pick up Dallas swag at Bullzerk, check out the latest gear at Transit Bicycle Co., or hunt for vintage treasures at Voodoo Chile.
