Stunning Perfect Reflection Wins #VisitLakeCharles Photo of the Year
For more than a year, the Lake Charles CVB has been showcasing exceptional photos from locals and visitors using our hashtag #VisitLakeCharles. Each month, we review submissions and select a Photo of the Month to honor talented photographers, both amateur and professional.
This National Tourism Week, we elevated the celebration by announcing our inaugural Photo of the Year.
Melissa Sanner of Classique Stillz submitted this captivating image in March 2015. It garnered over 100 likes on social media, thanks to its vibrant colors and flawless sky reflection in the still lake waters.
“My photography partner and I love capturing nature as a hobby. That morning, we spontaneously shot the sunrise before our next adventure. We started at Ripley’s boat launch in Westlake, then headed to the saltwater barrier. The water was mirror-still, perfectly reflecting the clouds, blue sky, and rising sun—a breathtaking natural spectacle we'd never witnessed before.”
