Polaroid of the Week: Captivating Burritts Rapids Locks on the Historic Rideau Canal

Our temporary home lies near the Rideau River and the renowned Rideau Canal, connecting Ottawa to Kingston on Lake Ontario. Opened in 1832, this is North America's oldest continuously operating canal, boasting 45 locks. We biked to the scenic Burritts Rapids locks near Merrickville, enjoying a sunny picnic while watching boats navigate through.

In Arenal Volcano National Park, we spotted diverse wildlife—including unnamed species—and marveled at the floral ab

Yet nothing quite matched this discovery! Wandering through a vibrant market in Lucca, Tuscany, surrounded by fresh olives, global sea salts, and fragrant rosemary, we came upon a stuffed boars head proudly displayed at a delicatessen stall, nestled between olive oil and Chianti wine.
