Among the mountains of Sierra Gorda that run through the territory of Querétaro, you will find the Pueblo Mágico (Magical Town) of Cadereyta de Montes, whose history dates back to seven thousand years ago when it was inhabited by Chichimeca, Pame and Jonace ethnic groups; although it was with the arrival of the Spanish that the town of Cadereyta was officially founded in 1640.

 

One of its great attractions is the contrasting difference between its vegetation that changes dramatically according to the area you visit. To the south, its climate tends to be semi-desert, ideal for farming wines and making cheeses, while in the north, you will find large forests of conifers and oaks.

The Centro Histórico de Cadereyta de Montes (Historical Center of Cadereyta de Montes) invites you to walk, this is the best way to admire the old neoclassical mansions, as well as the Palacio Municipal (City Hall), the Plaza de Armas or the red quarry churches with Baroque influences built in the 18th century under the orders of Franciscan monks.
