Georgetown Wooden Boat Show: Celebrating South Carolina s Maritime Heritage

The Myrtle Beach area comes alive the third weekend in October with exciting events, including the 29th Annual Georgetown Wooden Boat Show on the southern Grand Strand in South Carolina. This premier Southeast event showcases over 140 classic wooden boats displayed on land and in the water.

Attendees enjoy knot-tying demonstrations, maritime art, children's model boat building, crafts, food vendors, and live music. The festival highlights Georgetown's storied maritime heritage, offering fun and educational experiences for all ages.

A highlight is Saturday's Wooden Boat Challenge, where teams race to build a rowing skiff in four hours and compete in a relay race on the Sampit River. Sunday features family-friendly races like the Cardboard Boat Regatta and Opti Pram Regatta. View the full schedule at www.woodenboatshow.com.

Plan a weekend getaway to scenic, historic Georgetown to fully immerse in the festival and explore the charming port city—an ideal fall itinerary for last-minute travelers.
