Experience the Chilling Thrill of Conway Ghost Walk: A Top Halloween Event Near Myrtle Beach

Halloween ranks among my top holidays in the Myrtle Beach area, thanks to South Carolina's ideal October weather that sparks festive spirits with the season's shift. The month brims with fall festivals and outdoor events, and the annual Conway Ghost Walk stands out as a favorite.
Hosted by Conway Downtown Alive, this immersive experience unfolds in the historic rivertown, just 12 miles inland from Myrtle Beach. Each October, expert storytellers share captivating Lowcountry ghost tales amid the live oak-lined streets of scenic downtown Conway. Both eerie and entertaining, it's an event our family attends yearly. In fact, my husband has even served as a storyteller, giving us insider insight into its charm.
Tours kick off at 6:30 p.m. from the Conway Visitor Center at 428 Main Street, departing every 15 minutes until 8:30 p.m. The 75-minute guided walk covers about 1.2 miles through sidewalks, grass, slight inclines, and roadways—comfortable shoes are essential.
Tickets cost $15 for adults and $7 for children 12 and under, with the box office opening at 6 p.m. Advance tickets sell out fast for this popular attraction, so purchase early at www.ConwayAlive.com. Walk-up tickets may be available for later tours; arrive by 7:45 p.m. to check.
Pro tip: For evening walks on darker streets, bring a flashlight to enhance the spooky vibe. Extend your night by dining at nearby restaurants within walking distance of the start and end points—perfect for a full haunted evening in Conway.
