MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – October 10, 2019 – For the fourth consecutive year, Vacation Myrtle Beach resorts are partnering with the American Cancer Society to host the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Beach Walk and Family Fun Day on Saturday, October 19, 2019. This free, public family event unites the community in support of a vital cause.

"We're thrilled to collaborate with the American Cancer Society for our fourth annual Making Strides event in Myrtle Beach," said Matt Klugman, Chief Operating Officer for Vacation Myrtle Beach. "The event has grown significantly over the past three years, and we anticipate this year's gathering to be our biggest and best yet as we rally together for this important cause."

Myrtle Beach s 4th Annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Beach Walk & Family Fun Day – October 19, 2019

Registration for the 5K beach walk opens at 8 a.m., with the walk starting at 9 a.m. Participants will begin and end at Crown Reef Resort, located at 2913 S. Ocean Blvd. in Myrtle Beach. Cancer survivors receive a complimentary t-shirt, and all participants donating $15 or more will also get one.

Following the walk, enjoy a family-friendly celebration – rain or shine – featuring:

  • Treats from top Vacation Myrtle Beach executive chefs (fundraiser sales)
  • Mascot appearances
  • DJ music and dancing
  • Kids' photo ops with the Myrtle Beach Mermaids
  • Carnations for survivors presented by Medieval Times knights
