Happy Canada Day! Myrtle Beach Welcomes Back Our Canadian Friends

Happy Canada Day! Myrtle Beach Welcomes Back Our Canadian Friends

Myrtle Beach shares a storied partnership with Canada, dating back to spring 1960 when the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce launched the first Canadian-American Days. This event drew Canadian families during spring break with thrilling activities, special deals, and concerts. Over time, it evolved into the beloved "Can-Am" Days.

Last year's Can-Am week was canceled due to COVID-19 restrictions, but we're thrilled to welcome our Canadian visitors back soon. We're hopeful for an official Can-Am Days celebration next spring!

The Grand Strand offers endless attractions, live shows, shopping, music, Southern hospitality, and pristine sandy beaches with year-round averages of 25°C (75°F). Fly direct to Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR): Porter Airlines serves Toronto (currently paused due to the pandemic), while Spirit and Allegiant provide non-stop flights from Detroit, Albany, Newburgh/Stewart, and Syracuse. It's also drivable from many Canadian spots. Visit our website for the latest travel info.

After a year-plus at home, recharge at a resort, vacation rental, or condo with stunning views and amenities. Many properties offer Canadian specials—check our site for summer and fall deals. Across the 14 Grand Strand communities, find family pools, waterparks, or serene beachfront balconies to suit every need.

Plan around our events calendar: Enjoy festivals like the Loris Bog-Off, Little River Shrimpfest, and holiday celebrations. Myrtle Beach buzzes with laughter, crashing waves, and live tunes.

When you're ready, Myrtle Beach is ready to welcome you back!

*Always check the latest U.S.-Canada border protocols before planning your trip.
