Pet-Friendly Myrtle Beach: Accommodations, Parks, Beaches & Dining for Your Furry Companion

Our pets thrived during the work-from-home era, and now they deserve a vacation too. Myrtle Beach welcomes pets with friendly accommodations, parks, stores, restaurants, and more. Here's your guide to a pawsome beach getaway with your furry friend.

Pet-Friendly Accommodations

Choose from oceanfront hotels like DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Myrtle Beach Oceanfront and Best Western Plus Grand Strand Inn & Suites. For a home-like stay, book pet-friendly houses or condos via Elliot Beach Rentals, Garden City Realty, or Condo-World. Camping enthusiasts can opt for Ocean Lakes Family Campground or Myrtle Beach Travel Park. Explore our full list of accommodations on our website, where pet fees and requirements are detailed on each property's page.

Dog Parks & Beach Rules

Myrtle Beach features two "Barc Parc" dog parks with drinking fountains and fenced areas for off-leash play. Discover state parks like Myrtle Beach State Park, Huntington Beach State Park, and Vereen Historical Memorial Gardens, offering scenic ocean and marsh views with ample space for pets.

Dogs must typically stay leashed on beaches and are allowed only before 10 a.m. or after 5 p.m. from May 1 to Labor Day. Rules vary along the Grand Strand—check our website for the latest pet beach guidelines.

Pet-Welcoming Restaurants

Opt for spacious outdoor patios, some heated year-round. Favorites include Drunken Jack’s, Senor Frog’s, Tidal Creek Brewhouse, and River City Café, where you can savor local cuisine and views with your pet—many even offer treats or water bowls.

Despite ocean breezes, midday sun can overheat pets. Avoid hot pavement on paw pads and limit saltwater intake to prevent illness. Always pack cold water for you and your pet.
