12 Days of Christmas, Day 4: Explore Waccamaw Market Cooperative's Holiday Markets

12 Days of Christmas, Day 4: Explore Waccamaw Market Cooperative s Holiday Markets

2020 was a tough year for many, especially local shops, artisans, farmers, and craftsmen. As the holidays approached, shopping locally for gifts offered vital support. The Waccamaw Market Cooperative simplified this with their 'Holiday Markets' at three Grand Strand locations.

These markets echo the cooperative's beloved regular farmers markets but feature holiday specials. Expect fresh produce, baked goods, wood crafts, artisan soaps, gourmet popcorn, holiday fudge, eggs, pottery, hand-blown glass, ceramic art, handmade jewelry, honey, and more. Markets at Magnolia Row and Valor Park pair perfectly with year-round shopping favorites for a full day out.

Markets run Tuesdays through December 15, 2020, at Surfside Beach (Surfside and Willow Avenue, 12-4 p.m.); Thursdays through December 17, 2020, at Magnolia Row (44th Avenue North, Myrtle Beach, 11 a.m.-4 p.m.); and Saturdays through December 19, 2020, at Valor Park (The Market Common, 12-4 p.m.). Open-air events require masks where social distancing isn't possible. Stay safe while discovering local treasures! Visit WaccamawMarkets.org for details.

  • The Journey Toward Unity: Embracing Transformation

I remember that pain was always with me, but in time I stopped noticing it. I stopped hearing it, or even listening. One morning, I wake up and can’t feel my feet. I try to move them. I feel as if someone beat them with a stick the day before. I carefully pull them closer and bend them by force, pushing the endurance threshold much further than I can bear. I remember the pain of that broken thumb, the metallic taste of hypothermia, and the discomfort of stiffened clothes when the icy skin of
