12 Days of Christmas, Day 2: Discover Holiday Magic at Grand Strand Christmas Parades
Christmas parades are a joyful way to ignite holiday spirit and bring families together outdoors—especially valuable this year. We're excited to attend two upcoming events this weekend, complete with Santa hats, festive masks, and safe social distancing.
On Saturday, December 12, 2020, from 2 to 5 p.m., Surfside Beach hosts its annual Christmas Parade—one of the Grand Strand's largest, featuring over 100 entries like floats and marching bands. The route runs along Ocean Boulevard from Melody Lane to Surfside Drive to Poplar Drive. Families love it (kids collected heaps of candy last year!), so arrive early for prime viewing. It proceeds rain or shine unless lightning strikes; expect sunny skies with highs in the upper 60s. Details at www.surfsidebeach.org.
On Sunday, December 13, 2020, starting at 3 p.m., Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach presents its 2nd Annual Holiday Golf Cart Parade. Register for $10 (benefiting North Myrtle Beach Humane Society) to enter a decorated golf cart or walking group. Prizes go to top holiday designs. Whether participating or spectating, expect festive cheer as carts parade from Greg Norman Australian Grille through scenic Barefoot Landing. Extend your visit with happy hour or holiday shopping—' tis the season!
