12 Days of Christmas, Day 6: Holidays on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk – Festive Family Fun

12 Days of Christmas, Day 6: Holidays on the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk – Festive Family Fun

Experience the magic of the holidays on the Myrtle Beach boardwalk. Less crowded this time of year, it's home to one of the area's most stunning Christmas trees – perfect for photos with the ocean backdrop, reminding us why Christmas shines brighter at the beach!

Don't miss the Oceanfront Merchants' Holidays on the Boardwalk event, held every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. throughout December. Stroll Plyler Park along the boardwalk with family and friends to enjoy carolers, costumed characters, caricature artists, and more. Kids can meet Santa for photos, try Christmas crafts, get face painting, write letters to Santa, and delight in additional festivities. Catch live holiday music at 2 p.m. on stage or hop aboard the holiday train ride for just $3. There's even a secret shopping area where children can buy two gifts for $5 to surprise loved ones. The event continues December 29-31, with Santa's last appearance the Saturday before Christmas.

Hosted entirely outdoors, masks are required when social distancing isn't possible. Stay home if you're feeling unwell to keep everyone safe. While there, explore downtown gems like The Gay Dolphin Gift Cove for unique souvenirs, The Bowery for early happy hour, Mad Myrtles Ice Cream, ILoveSugar, Boardwalk Coffee Shop, Nightmare Haunted House, HiFi Coffee, Moe Moons, Hurricanes Bar & Grill, and Oceanfront Bar & Grill. It's the ideal way to spend a December afternoon!

According to Condé Nast Traveler, “Though it’s one of the newer boardwalks in the country, built in 2010, it has quickly become a staple on the eastern seaboard.
