12 Days of Christmas, Day 7: Brookgreen Gardens' Nights of a Thousand Candles – A Magical Holiday Must-See

12 Days of Christmas, Day 7: Brookgreen Gardens Nights of a Thousand Candles – A Magical Holiday Must-See

Brookgreen Gardens' Nights of a Thousand Candles is a bucket-list holiday event in the Myrtle Beach area. This enchanting experience transforms the stunning sculpture gardens into a winter wonderland illuminated by more than 2,700 hand-lit candles and thousands of sparkling lights. The event runs from 4 to 9 p.m. on select evenings in December 2020.

Visitors stroll illuminated pathways with a warm cup of cider, hot cocoa, or wine, enjoying live holiday music, carolers, and the nightly lighting of a magnificent live Christmas tree. This year features the special addition of Bruce Munro’s ‘Field of Light,’ extending the acclaimed summertime exhibit. Attendees enjoy two extraordinary light displays for the price of one garden admission. Dining options include Lowcountry favorites like Shrimp and Grits and Chicken Bog.

Awarded the Charles A. Bundy Award for Excellence in Tourism by the South Carolina Parks and Recreation Department and named ‘Best Christmas Lights in South Carolina’ by Travel + Leisure Magazine, this beloved event offers safe, outdoor holiday magic—especially timely during the season.

For safety and crowd control, Brookgreen added 12 extra nights, limiting tickets to half the usual capacity. All tickets require advance purchase: $20/adult and $12/child for members; $25/adult and $15/child for non-members. Visit Brookgreen.org for details and tickets. Remaining 2020 dates:
