Shark Wake Park North Myrtle Beach: Ultimate Guide to Cable Wakeboarding Adventure
Last week, my friend Rachel and I spent an exhilarating afternoon at Shark Wake Park, the Grand Strand's first cable wakeboarding facility in North Myrtle Beach. This innovative park brings the thrill of cable wakeboarding—a rising extreme sport—to our local waters.
Participants grab a continuous cable that loops around a 1.1-mile lake, eliminating the need for a boat. Pricing depends on your session duration and whether you rent gear.
Rachel, an experienced wakeboarder with her own board, impressed as always (check the video clip). As a first-timer, I opted for the recommended kneeboarding, which proved far easier than expected. I stayed on the kneeboard the whole time and had an incredible time.
For skill-building, Shark Wake Park provides professional on-site lessons. Seasoned riders enjoy unrestricted freedom on the water.
Our few hours flew by—we could've stayed all day. Relax at the waterfront bar with snacks while watching others. Spectating is free; riders must swim, and those under 18 need a parent or guardian waiver.
