Experience Ihu’s Breakaway Falls – Aquatica Orlando’s Premier 80‑Foot Drop

Dive into Aquatica Orlando’s newest adrenaline‑inducing attraction, Ihu’s Breakaway Falls.

Since opening on May 9, 2014, Aquatica’s flagship ride has been pulling guests out of the ground and plunging them 80 feet (24.4 meters) into a 48‑inch (1.22 m) minimum‑height thrill experience.

The ride begins with a dramatic vertical drop, followed by a series of curving tubes that culminate in a final splashdown. Four distinct slides offer different sensations:

Four Slide Experiences

Breakaway Box Slides: Three of the slides feature upright “breakaway boxes.” Riders stand with arms and legs crossed; after a heart‑pounding countdown, the floor drops and the slide launches.

Heart‑Beat Audio: Each box is accompanied by an amplified heartbeat sound, enhancing the anticipation before the floor disappears.

Manual Launch Slide: The purple slide omits the automated drop. Riders launch themselves manually, then encounter the steepest, most exhilarating descent of all the slides.

360° View: Before the launch, guests climb 126 steps to the platform, offering one of the best open‑air vistas of International Drive, the Orange County Convention Center, SeaWorld Orlando’s roller coasters, and downtown Orlando on clear days.

Aquatica blends a vibrant Pacific Rim theme with lush landscaping, creating an island oasis. In line with SeaWorld’s brand, visitors can also enjoy encounters with iguanas, macaws, and Commerson’s dolphins.
