YS Falls: Jamaica's Stunning Seven-Tiered Waterfall Paradise

Nestled deep in St. Elizabeth parish, YS Falls feels like a slice of Eden. This breathtaking series of seven cascades plunges 118ft (36m) amid limestone cliffs and lush jungle, offering some of Jamaica's most picturesque waterfalls. Cool, inviting pools between tiers make for ideal swimming spots.
Trained lifeguards oversee the thrilling rope swing over one pool, while a stone staircase leads to the main waterfall. No lockers are available, so secure valuables with you. Named YS (pronounced 'why-ess') after 17th-century British plantation owners John Yates and Richard Scott, who acquired the land from the Crown, this natural wonder captivates visitors.
Canopy Zip Line Adventure
Adrenaline seekers can soar over the falls on the canopy zip line. A tractor-drawn jitney transports all guests to the site, featuring picnic areas, changing rooms, a treehouse, and a shallow river-fed pool.
Admission Prices
Waterfalls entry is $20 for adults and $12 for children (15 and under). Canopy access costs $49 per adult and $39 per child (12 and under).
Getting There
Most Jamaican tour operators and hotels offer YS Falls excursions, but for a crowd-free experience, drive or hire a private taxi and arrive at opening. The entrance lies just north of the B6 junction toward Maggotty. From the smoother A2 road, turn off 1 mile (1.5km) east of Middle Quarters, then proceed 3.4 miles (5.5km) north.
