SeaWorld Orlando Unveils Mako Coaster’s First Ride Vehicle
Mako is coming to SeaWorld Orlando.
SeaWorld Orlando is making waves with the debut of the lead ride car for its newest coaster, Mako. Set to open this summer, the attraction promises an adrenaline‑filled experience that draws on sleek shark‑inspired design and cutting‑edge engineering.
When it launches, Mako will soar to a height of 200 feet and accelerate to 73 mph along a track that stretches nearly one mile.
The ride vehicle, crafted to resemble a Mako shark, features five gills on each side, piercing eyes, and a hydro‑dynamic silhouette. Its wheels wrap around the track’s top, sides, and bottom, constructed from a polyurethane compound that minimizes friction, ensuring both speed and precision.
An individual lap bar secures riders into padded seats, allowing upper‑body mobility so guests can fully experience the ride’s extended airtime.
Mako is scheduled to open in summer 2016 at SeaWorld Orlando and will become the centerpiece of a new shark‑themed realm.
