Explore Dallas Arboretum’s Dallas Blooms: Musical Scavenger Hunts, Family Days, Wine Tasting, and Easter Weekend Events

Dallas Blooms is in full swing! From now through April 12, the Dallas Arboretum—home to over 100 varieties of spring bulbs and half a million blossoms on 66 acres—invites guests to celebrate the season. With temperatures comfortably mild, the gardens are an ideal backdrop for family photos, picnics, and romantic strolls. The festival’s theme, “Sounds of Spring,” showcases weekly musical performances and artistic topiary displays.

  1. Musical Scavenger Hunt Thursdays (March 5‑April 9) – Gather friends, collect clues at the information booth, and explore the Arboretum’s 66 acres to the soundtrack of diverse music genres.
  2. Kelley Family Days (March 20‑22) – Thanks to a donation from the William G. Kelley Family, visitors receive free admission to the Rory Meyers Children’s Adventure Garden (with main garden admission or membership). The garden offers hands‑on earth‑science learning, water features, and plant labs—perfect for families.
  3. Couples Night Out: Scardello Cheese & Wine Tasting Class (April 2) – Join Scardello’s owner, Rich Rogers, at the Arboretum’s A Tasteful Place for a two‑hour session featuring eight Italian cheeses, four wines, and pairing basics.
  4. Easter Weekend (April 10‑12) – Enjoy performances by Eddie Coker, a petting zoo, and the Emerald City Party Band while capturing memories among tulips and azaleas.

Additional spring highlights include Mommy and Me Mondays and Tiny Tot Tuesdays for young children, as well as Wine Down Wednesdays at the Three Sisters Lagoon Overlook with beverages from Checkered Past Winery.

The Martin Rutchik Concert Stage & Lawn hosts a different musical act each weekend of Dallas Blooms; see the lineup here. Food enthusiasts can enjoy the Chef‑Tastic Cooking Series, featuring chefs such as The Corn Dog Guy and One Great Vegan, who demonstrate dishes and offer samples.
