Vinton, LA Celebrates 100 Years with Heritage Festival Featuring Marcia Ball and Local Talent
Black-and-white photos capture the history, while locals share the vibrant stories. Vinton, Louisiana, marks its centennial with the Vinton Heritage Festival, inviting everyone to honor a town that has produced talents like Grammy-nominated pianist Marcia Ball and Toto vocalist Bobby Kimball.
The festival takes place on October 9, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Downtown Vinton's City Park, at the corners of Center and Horridge Streets.
Headlining is Vinton native Marcia Ball, joined by fellow locals Ivy Dugas, Ed Jardell, and Raymond T & French Bred. Visit the special vendor booth for Vinton-themed souvenirs like ornaments and afghans.
Enjoy abundant crafts, door prizes, food vendors, rides, games for kids, and appearances by Gumbeaux Gator. Lawn chairs are welcome; coolers and alcohol are not permitted.
