Surfside Beach s 10th Annual BBQ Festival: Family-Friendly Fun This Weekend

The Town of Surfside Beach excels at family-friendly events, drawing visitors to its two miles of pristine oceanfront with 36 beach access points. Enjoy its excellent public library with kid-focused programs, playgrounds, and a park hosting a seasonal farmers market with live music.

This Friday and Saturday, March 8-9, 2019, join the 10th Annual BBQ Festival. Eleven top competitors vie for your vote: Beach Butts, Beach Catering, Carter’s Carolina BBQ, Coastal BBQ, Smoking Down South, Smokin’ Esso B’s, Gardner Boys BBQ, Evans BBQ, The BBQ House, Hayward’s Catering, and defending champion Pop Pop’s Pit BBQ.

Friday from 5-7 p.m., chefs compete in the "Anything But BBQ" prelude at the Surfside and Yaupon Drives parking lot. Saturday starts at 10 a.m. on Surfside Drive with BBQ judging, games, face painting, inflatables, 70+ vendors, and live music—bluegrass by Crave & Company at 10 a.m., followed by the Josh Brannon Band's country tunes at 1 p.m.
