Howard Street Cemetery – A Historic Site of the 1692 Salem Witch Trials
About
Howard Street Cemetery is one of the three burial grounds that bear witness to the infamous 1692 Salem Witch Trials. It is traditionally believed to be the site where Giles Corey was taken to endure the brutal "pressing"—the torture inflicted on those who refused to enter a formal trial.
The cemetery remains open to the public from dusk until dawn. We respectfully invite visitors to honor the graves, acknowledging their historical significance and the solemnity of those who rest here.
