Lucy Buffett's LuLu’s at Barefoot Landing Debuts Beach Arcade and Mountain of Youth Ropes Course

Lucy Buffett s LuLu’s at Barefoot Landing Debuts Beach Arcade and Mountain of Youth Ropes Course

Earlier this month, Lucy Buffett’s LuLu’s at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach unveiled its new Beach Arcade and Mountain of Youth ropes course, elevating the family-friendly atmosphere to new heights.

After conquering the ropes course, visitors can indulge in LuLu’s renowned Gulf seafood dishes next door. Although I haven’t tackled the course myself yet, I attended the grand opening and witnessed Lucy Buffett herself experience the optional ‘free-fall exit’—it looked exhilarating!

Equipped with a secure harness, participants navigate 26 challenging elements across multiple levels, with the adventure typically lasting about 20 minutes depending on pace. At the grand opening, Lucy Buffett shared: “LuLu’s has always been about family. When we added our first ropes course at the Gulf Shores location, it was wildly successful and complemented our mission to create a coastal dining and recreational experience for families. The kids get to play in a safe environment while the grown-ups have a drink, enjoy delicious fun food and listen to live music.”

Alongside the ropes course, the new LuLu’s Beach Arcade offers a mix of modern games and classics like Skee-Ball, basketball, and racing simulators for all ages.

Minimum height for the ropes course is 48 inches, with pricing starting at $20. The best value is the $30 package, including the course, quick jump, and a $10 arcade play card. It’s a must-add to any spring break itinerary.

LuLu’s at Barefoot Landing also hosts engaging events, like the Easter Egg Dash on April 21 from 2-4 p.m., featuring the Easter Bunny and an egg hunt on the beach. For details, visit www.lulubuffett.com/northmyrtlebeach.

Descending the scree of La Canaleta after a long, cold summit day on Aconcagua I could have sworn I caught the scent of meat roasting on an open fire coming from a lower camp. It was, in all probability, a combination of mild altitude sickness, the longing for a really good steak, and the recent memory of such a dish earlier that month in an Mendocino restaurant when I got served with what seemed like half a cow when the steak flopped over both sides of my plate. This monster of a dish was o
