Lucy Buffett's LuLu’s Opens at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, boasts abundant waterfront dining this summer. New spots like RipTydz and Tin Roof in downtown offer ocean vistas, while LuLu’s at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach provides stunning Intracoastal Waterway views.
This 17,000-square-foot open-air restaurant, owned by Jimmy Buffett’s sister Lucy Buffett, debuted in June. Guests flock to its expansive menu inspired by Gulf Shores, Alabama’s coastal cuisine and “gumbo love,” plus live music, a private “beach,” and kids’ activities.

Our recent lunch visit left us eager to return. The vibrant hot pink and teal exterior seats 450 and dominates Barefoot Landing’s new Dockside Village. Following our server’s advice, we savored L.A. (Lower Alabama Caviar), Peel & Eat Shrimp, fried Blue Crab Claws, Lulu’s Famous Seafood Gumbo, and Blackened Fish Tacos. The red snapper plate featured a “Fish Trax” flag with a QR code tracing its catch details.
LuLu’s excels with an extensive allergen-friendly menu (gluten-free, dairy-free, soy-free, shellfish-free, egg-free, seafood-free) prepared in a dedicated kitchen—ideal for guests with dietary needs.
Family-focused amenities shine: a welcoming kids’ “beach,” “Fountain of Youth,” sand toys, and games. Upcoming additions include a Shag Beach Bar, three-story ropes course, and arcade, ensuring vacation entertainment for all ages.
A small gift shop offers T-shirts, hot sauces, and Lucy Buffett’s cookbooks—perfect souvenirs. Check wait times and join the virtual line at LuLuBuffett.com for seamless visits.
