Commemorate the 20th Anniversary of 9/11: Patriot Day Events in Myrtle Beach and the Grand Strand
Patriot Day on September 11 honors the 2,996 lives lost in the 9/11 attacks and the enduring courage of first responders and service members protecting our nation. Marking the 20th anniversary, the Grand Strand hosts meaningful events for locals and visitors to reflect and show respect.
The City of Myrtle Beach presents a Remembrance Ceremony on September 11 at 1:00 p.m. at Warbird Park. A steel beam from the World Trade Center's North Tower stands at the 9/11 Memorial in The Market Common, donated by former New York City firefighters now residing in Myrtle Beach as a gesture of gratitude to the community. The ceremony features speakers, a color presentation, songs, and more.

At Doug Shaw Stadium, the American Football Women's tackle football team plays three tribute games honoring civilians, service members, and first responders lost on 9/11. Schedule:
- "Pentagon Bowl" kicks off at 12:00 p.m. (pregame at 11:30 a.m.).
- "Never Forget Bowl" kicks off at 3:30 p.m. (pregame at 3:00 p.m.).
- "9/11 Memorial Bowl" kicks off at 7:00 p.m. (pregame at 6:30 p.m.).
Tavern in the Forest in Carolina Forest hosts a Red, White, and Brew block party on September 11 from 3:00–11:00 p.m., featuring craft beer tastings, live entertainment, and family activities. Proceeds benefit local first responder charities.
Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet displays the A. Thomas Schomberg sculpture collection depicting 9/11's impact in the Rosen Gallery (included with admission) from September 11 through early November.
The City of Conway holds a tribute ceremony in front of City Hall on Main Street from 8:19–10:28 a.m. on September 11.

The Market Common's Art in Common festival runs September 11–12 from 10:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m., showcasing local artists' handmade jewelry, metal art, wooden bowls, and more.
