Erlanger Chattanooga Marathon 2017: Complete Entertainment Schedule and Neighborhood Events

Erlanger's Chattanooga Marathon, presented by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee, offers a weekend of excitement for runners, families, and fans.

Friday, March 3
Join the fun at the First Tennessee Pavilion for Michelob Ultra's Kick-Off Party.

4:00pm-6:00pm: Registration and Michelob Ultra Happy Hour
Runners can register, pick up packets, and enjoy a special happy hour from Michelob Ultra.

5:00pm-7:00pm: Michelob Ultra Kick-Off Party with FREE outdoor concert by Strung Like A Horse!
Strung Like A Horse blends traditional Appalachian bluegrass with gypsy-influenced rock 'n' roll for a unique, energetic sound. Clay Maselle's soulful vocals and group harmonies will get the crowd dancing with electric, feel-good energy.

Sunday, March 5 – Race Day!
Head to the First Tennessee Pavilion to cheer finishers, explore the vendor expo, grab food, and enjoy free live music on the outdoor stage.

9:00am-9:45am: The Knob Creek Girls
Chattanooga locals Lynn Wamp, Jana Michelson, Kara Miscio, and Christie Burns deliver contemporary takes on traditional songs with lush four-part harmonies, backed by guitar, hammered dulcimer, upright bass, mandolin, and ukulele. Their upbeat tunes will have you singing and dancing.

10:00am-10:45am: Rick Rushing & the Blues Strangers
This Chattanooga blues trio fuses blues, jazz, rock, and rhythm. Led by vocalist and guitarist Rick Rushing—a relative of legendary blues shouter Jimmy Rushing—they elevate audiences with dynamic performances.

12:00pm-12:45pm: Kofi Mawuko and the Ogya World Music Band
Ogya (meaning "fire") brings high-energy rhythms from West Africa, the Caribbean, and the Americas. Ghana native Kofi Mawuko has toured globally, collaborated with Grammy winners, and opened for stars like Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Expect soul-stirring original music.

Neighborhood Celebrations – Don't Miss the Fun!

Saint Elmo:
This historic neighborhood on the National Register of Historic Places hosts cheers, balloons, posters, and live music by Nick Lutsko (8:00am-10:00am) with his puppet band mates. "Seeing familiar faces cheering is the highlight of my races," says Chelsey Breedy, Community Association President.

Fort Wood:
Cheer at Victorian Park with signs, banners, a water station, and music by Solar Moonshine—originals and rock classics from Steve O’Neil, Kathy Webb, Rick Hoffman, and Roger Davis.

Highland Park:
This thriving urban neighborhood lines streets with balloons, posters, and enthusiastic cheers amid restored historic homes and community growth.

North Chatt/Barton/Sterling:
Near mile 12.5 by Girls Preparatory School, enjoy music, posters, noisemakers, food, drinks, and an artist-led sign-making workshop (Friday, March 3) in this eclectic riverside area.

Ferger Place:
Chattanooga's original subdivision (National Register) features welcoming banners, a party atmosphere, private park, and refreshments near the finish.

Jefferson Heights:
Southside gem near mile 25 offers spirited cheers amid eateries, parks, and community vibe to power runners home.

UTC/Sororities:
UTC Greek life brings school spirit, cheers, and a $500 philanthropy prize for the most energetic sorority.

M.L. King Blvd:
Jazzanooga provides refreshments, live music at Jazzanooga Arts Space (431 E MLK Blvd), and the AT&T Building mural.
