Chattanooga's Inaugural City Celebration & Ciclovía 2017: 7 Miles of Family Fun
Curious about Ciclovía? This Spanish term, meaning "bike path," transforms Chattanooga's streets into car-free zones for cyclists, pedestrians, and families to enjoy vibrant neighborhoods all day long. It's an exciting, community-driven event!
The 1st Annual Chattanooga Celebration & Ciclovía takes place on Sunday, October 29, featuring 7 miles of bike and pedestrian routes from downtown through east Chattanooga's neighborhoods. Discover 6 lively block parties with live music, local food and drinks, and family-friendly activities. Free and open to all—check the schedule below:
Block Party 1: Blues, Bikes, & Beer
Stoveworks, 12-2pm
Kick off at Stoveworks with live music by R.A. and the Flames, food from local spots, a climbing contest hosted by High Point Climbing and Fitness, and soccer fun from Chattanooga Football Club's Chattahooligans.
Block Party 2: Highland Park Community Festival
Highland Park Commons, 1-3pm
In historic Highland Park, enjoy tunes by The Bohannons, bounce houses, face painting, carnival games, Chattanooga Roller Girls, aerial performances, and a giant graffiti wall.
Block Party 3: Ridgedale Art in the Alley
Alleyway off Kelly St between Kirby Ave & Vance Ave, 1-3pm
Celebrate Ridgedale's 130th birthday with local brews, chalk art, pizza, kids' games, near McCallie School and Barking Legs Theater.
Block Party 4: Kid's Corner at the Knob
Orchard Knob Elementary School, 2-4pm
Family hotspot with music by Kofi Mawuko and his band, bike decorating and rodeo with Outdoor Chattanooga, ropes course, bounce house, and pet adoptions from McKamey Animal Shelter and Humane Educational Society.
Block Party 5: Glass Street Live
Intersection of Glass Street & Dodson Avenue, 3-6pm
End with a parade, antique car and art shows, giant chess, and break-dance competition.
