Disney Debuts Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom

Get more details on the Festival of Fantasy Parade at Disney.

Walt Disney World® Resort has unveiled its newest daily afternoon attraction, the Festival of Fantasy Parade, at Magic Kingdom® Park—a vibrant showcase of Disney's creative flair that promises to captivate every visitor.

Featuring towering floats, iconic characters, dazzling performers, and a fire‑breathing dragon, here are five must‑see highlights from the parade.

The Royal Court

The opening float showcases Disney’s beloved royal figures, including the Academy Award‑winning sisters Anna and Elsa from Frozen—the only venue outside Epcot® where guests can encounter them today.

The Dancers

Each float is accompanied by professional dancers delivering Broadway‑style performances—from Scottish kilted dancers leading the Brave float to Newsies-inspired Lost Boys accompanying Peter Pan. Their bright costumes and precise choreography create an inspiring spectacle.

Senior Show Director Randy Wojcik of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Creative Entertainment remarked at the premiere: "The performers and cast are the heart and soul of the Festival of Fantasy and will deliver the magical essence of this parade in a big way every day for Magic Kingdom guests."

Fire‑Breathing Dragon

In celebration of the May 30, 2014 release of Disney’s feature film Maleficent, a dedicated segment of the parade honors the iconic villain from Sleeping Beauty.

The segment showcases steampunk‑styled costumes that reimagine the classic tale with a Victorian‑sci‑fi twist, anchored by a giant, fire‑breathing dragon that stands out as a parade highlight.

Colorful Floats and Costumes

Vibrant floats burst with color and kinetic elements that leap forward along the route, while performers donning vivid costumes blend fashion with fun—memorable highlights you won’t want to miss.

Wojcik adds, "Combining modern technology with fresh creative design delivers a new twist on Disney classics, bringing these stories to life for a whole new generation—and for older fans who will always be kids at heart."

Favorite Characters

Even amidst new elements, the parade features beloved Disney icons—including Mickey and Minnie soaring on the finale float, an additional show‑stopper.

From Beauty and the Beast and Peter Pan, to Princess Ariel, Merida from Brave, and characters from Tangled, the parade blends classic and modern tales, enchanting daily Magic Kingdom guests.
