Chef Art Smith Brings Authentic Southern Fare to Disney Springs with Homecomin' Florida Kitchen
Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin' Florida Kitchen is now a vibrant new destination at Disney Springs in Orlando.
Chef Art Smith, a James Beard Award‑winning culinary artist and former personal chef to Oprah Winfrey, has returned to the place where his culinary journey began: Walt Disney World® Resort. With the launch of Homecomin' Florida Kitchen at Disney Springs®, he brings his signature blend of Southern comfort and fresh, local ingredients to a broader audience.
The restaurant’s menu showcases the rich flavors of North Florida. Chef Smith sources produce and meats from local farms, ensuring that every plate reflects the Sunshine State’s bounty. His philosophy—food as a means to bring families together—shines through each dish, from humble classics to inventive twists.
Starters
The Jasper Board, named after Chef Smith’s hometown, offers an inviting spread of pimento cheese, smoked sausage, shaved ham, fresh bread, butter, pickles, and candied pecans.
The Church Lady Deviled Eggs give a playful spin on the classic, served in a unique ceramic egg carton.
“Bunch of Puppies,” a savory treat of homemade pimento cheese paired with red jalapeño jelly, is a must‑try.
Salads
The Tarpon Springs Greek Salad blends locally sourced shrimp, heirloom cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives, and a Southern twist of house‑made potato salad.
Main Plates
With Fried Chicken & Doughnuts, enjoy two pieces of Chef Smith’s renowned fried chicken alongside house‑made sugar donuts and KC Greens—a mix of kale and collard greens seasoned with vinegar and pepper.
The classic Shrimp & Grits features Florida shrimp, pan‑seared with Tasso ham gravy over creamy Bradley’s grits, served with KC Greens.
Sweetness
Indulge in desserts like the signature Shine Cake, soaked in genuine Florida moonshine, or the celebrated Humming Cake with cream cheese frosting inspired by Chef Smith’s bestseller Back to the Table.
Craft Moonshine & Resort Cocktails
Explore a selection of craft cocktails featuring fresh ingredients and authentic moonshine. The Cucumber Cooler, crafted with St. Augustine Vodka, lime juice, simple syrup, and crisp cucumber slices, can also be made with Hendrick’s Gin.
The Shine Bar sits at the restaurant’s heart and is also accessible from the “Back Porch,” a convenient grab‑and‑go spot. Any menu item or drink can be served to go, ideal for diners on the move within Disney Springs.
