Dallas Leads the Way: The Making of Moving Cities Film
Dallas, home to the nation’s largest arts district, was chosen as the first American city to feature in the globally acclaimed Moving Cities short‑film series, a celebration of dance within urban transportation contexts.
Filmed over three weeks in September 2016, the eight‑minute documentary showcases 17 iconic Dallas locations and 56 dancers representing 10 local dance companies, including Dallas Black Dance Theatre, Bruce Wood Dance Project, Dance Council of North Texas, TITAS, and the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
British director Jevan Chowdhury, drawn by Dallas’s dynamic growth, striking architecture and vibrant artist community, says, "Dallas, a mythical city rich in American legend, has accelerated full speed into this century. Big cars, trucks and skylines – it truly is a stage for amazing dance talent."
