Dallas Leads the Way: Eco‑Friendly Approach to the NCAA Women’s Final Four

Dallas is stepping into the spotlight as it hosts the 2023 NCAA Women’s Final Four at the American Airlines Center, combining athletic excellence with environmental responsibility.

The city’s commitment to sustainability is evident from the very beginning. The custom hardwood court, manufactured by Connor Sports®—the Official Court of the NCAA—has been built using sustainable forestry practices. This year, VisitDallas collected over 400 pounds of plastic bottle caps, which were sent to Connor Sports’ mill in Amasa, MI. There, the caps were ground into small sections that are now integral to the court’s sub‑structure, turning everyday waste into a symbol of green innovation.

The National semifinals will be held on Friday, March 31, followed by the championship game on Sunday, April 2. With the court now ready, Dallas is poised to deliver a memorable weekend of competition, community, and sustainability.

In addition to the on‑court excitement, the weekend offers a range of activities for fans. Country music superstar Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland will perform on Saturday, April 1, and all ticket holders for the entire weekend will receive a free concert ticket with their game purchase. This partnership underscores Dallas’s dedication to providing value and memorable experiences for visitors.

Come witness the intersection of sport and sustainability—see the eco‑friendly court, cheer for your favorite team, and enjoy the weekend’s festivities in one of America’s greenest cities.
