Dallas Pride 2024: Fair Park Festivities in June
Dallas Pride is reshaping its tradition for 2024, moving the flagship festival and parade to Fair Park and shifting the dates to June 1‑2.
The weekend’s rallying cry—“Stonewall STRONG, Dallas PROUD”—honors the 50th anniversary of the 1969 Stonewall Inn riots, the spark of modern LGBTQ activism.
Event Highlights
Saturday kicks off with the Miller Lite Music Festival at 10 a.m., featuring Grammy‑winning artist Estelle, The Roommates, Ada Vox, and other celebrated performers. Executive Director Jaron Turnbow says the expanded Fair Park venue allows for a richer, more inclusive experience.
Sunday continues with the Alan Ross Texas Freedom Parade, beginning at 2 p.m. The route now stretches nearly a mile from Cedar Springs Road through Fair Park and around the Cotton Bowl, lined with pop‑up bars so attendees can relax and watch the procession.
Dallas Pride also prioritizes families and youth. Teen Pride, presented by Real Live Connection, offers a safe, curated space for ages 13‑19 with live music, DJs, and interactive installations. The Family Pride zone, reserved for families, delivers games, crafts, and tailored entertainment for children.
Historical Tribute
Centennial Hall will host a special exhibit of the AIDS Memorial Quilt, a powerful reminder of LGBTQ history. Created in 1985 by activist Cleve Jones, the quilt first graced the National Mall in 1987 and now returns to honor those lost to AIDS.
