Southwest Louisiana's Inspiring 'Hope' Music Video: A Celebration of Resilience and Recovery
The Community Foundation of Southwest Louisiana has released an uplifting music video titled "Hope."
Foundation President and CEO Sara Judson explains that the title perfectly captures the video's core message of optimism and forward momentum.
Judson states, "The goal is to celebrate the strength and spirit of the people who live here, shifting focus from 'what happened to us' to what we are going to make happen and how we progress. Creating opportunity from the devastation of the storms is a commitment we all share—that's what this song is about."
The video showcases local performers singing on rooftops, embodying the chorus: "Shout it from the rooftop, we're coming back better than before." It also features dancers, joyful community scenes, and positive recovery moments across the region.

"This video is the result of many talented locals collaborating on a hurricane recovery anthem for Southwest Louisiana," says Judson. "From the Healthy Image Marketing team's initial idea, support poured in. Music producers Ed Fruge and Michael A. McGowan brought the song to life. Contributors include the United Christian Fellowship Church Choir, Mickey Smith Jr., Gyth Rigdon, Angie Manning, St. Louis Show Choir members, and Lake Charles Dance Academy. Everyone we approached—for participation, locations, or airtime—said yes. It's truly a community project, by and for our community."

Watch "Hope" on the Community Foundation's website at www.foundationswla.org, the Rebuilding SWLA site at www.rebuildingswla.com, and both organizations' Facebook pages. Local TV stations are airing it too. The Foundation urges the community to share the video on social media to amplify recovery efforts. "Sharing this message within and beyond our region keeps the spotlight on our positive progress," Judson adds. "Let's send a strong signal: Southwest Louisiana is coming back better than before."
