Meaningful CSR Activities in Tempe: Give Back During Your Next Event

The Tempe Tourism Office is committed to giving back to our community year-round through volunteer service and impactful initiatives. We experience firsthand how these efforts transform lives, creating lasting positive change.

Planning a memorable meeting or successful event involves juggling countless details for your guests. When your organization seeks a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity aligned with its mission, the Tempe Tourism Office is here to help.

We've curated a list of trusted local organizations and agencies eager to partner with groups for altruistic endeavors. From serving meals and providing educational resources for children to fundraising for cultural programs, our year-round options ensure your CSR goals are met effectively.

Standout local partners include the Tempe Community Action Agency (TCAA), Kitchen on the Street, Tumbleweed, Feed My Starving Children, and Hotels for Hope—all dedicated to enhancing community well-being.

  • Tempe Community Action Agency (TCAA) – Offers education, stability, and advocacy for working-poor families, children, seniors, homeless individuals, and disabled adults, including access to food and shelter. Diverse volunteer roles span homeless shelter programs, senior services, community gardens, food pantries, and more.
  • Kitchen on the Street – Founded in 2007 by the Scarpinato family, this nonprofit delivers meals to food-insecure children in Phoenix. Groups of 25-30 can pack pre-portioned meals and snacks in a 2-hour assembly-line session for distribution at partner schools.
  • Tumbleweed – Supports at-risk youth and families via advocacy and services. Opportunities include meal preparation, home maintenance, administrative help, and group activities.
  • Feed My Starving Children – A Christian nonprofit focused on nourishing malnourished children worldwide. Volunteers pack specialized, nutrient-rich meals.
  • Hotels for Hope – Partners with hotels and large groups, directing $2 per room night to charities aiding children.

These CSR opportunities are as varied as your organization's needs. If your group has a specific idea, we'll connect you with the ideal Tempe partners.

Many Tempe hotels and venues also champion CSR and sustainability. For instance, the Phoenix Marriott Tempe at The Buttes, a premier luxury resort, earned Arizona's Community Service Leader of the Year award in 2015. Hotel staff volunteer extensively, and Executive Chef Greg Weiner's "Think / Eat / Give" program donated thousands from special menus to monthly-selected local charities at the award-winning Top of the Rock restaurant.

Prioritizing community impact? Include it in your RFP, and we'll tailor recommendations for your event.

We can't wait to host you in Tempe. Reach our group sales team at 480-894-8158 or via email to ensure your next event succeeds while making a difference!
